According to a tweet by Evan Daniels of Scout.com, Gonzaga junior point guard Nate Britt will announce his college decision on Tuesday, November 29.
It has long been assumed that Maryland and North Carolina were the two heavy favorites to land last season’s DC Gatorade Player of the Year. Britt has taken unofficial visits to both North Carolina and Maryland and most recently attended Maryland’s home opener versus UNC Wilmington. Britt also has a strong relationship with Maryland assistant Dalonte Hill who is a former coach with Britt’s AAU program DC Assault.
Were Maryland to land Britt it would be a huge statement for the Terps in the local recruiting scene. Britt is considered the top recruit locally and the Terps were believed to have a strained relationship with DC Assault under Gary Williams. The addition of Britt would also help fill one of Maryland’s biggest voids which is a bonafide playmaker.
